The Baco Maco Sausage is a crazy compilation that just WORKS!
Here is a menu item from Umai Savory Hot Dogs, an upscale Hot Dog restaurant in San Francisco. Once we read about this, we knew we had to recreate it!
Ingredients:
Sourdough bun
Sausage (Umai Savory Hot Dogs uses an Andouille Sausage, we used kielbasa)
Cheddar Mac + Cheese
Smoked Applewood Bacon Bits
Spicy Cheddar Sauce
BBQ Chips, crumbled
For the Spice Cheddar Sauce
2 T butter
1 cup milk
1/2 t salt
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and stir in flour.
2. Pour in the milk and stir until the mixture thickens.
3. Stirring constantly, mix in cheese, chipotles and salt.
4. Continue to cook and stir until cheese has melted and all ingredients are well blended, about 15 minutes.
5. Fire up the grill.
6. Brown the sausage on all sides.
7. Place the sausage on the bun.
8. Top with Mac N Cheese, then bacon bits, cheese sauce, then the crumbled chips.
9. Serve and ENJOY!
